Time Is The Substance...Ο Χρόνος Είναι Η Ουσία...

Time is the substance
from which I am made.
Time is a river
which carries me along,
but I am the river;
it is a tiger that devours me,
but I am the tiger;
it is a fire that consumes me,
but I am the fire.

....................................

Lovers In The Wind - Εραστές Στον Άνεμο

Time is always on the run
We've only just begun
Lovers in the wind.
Life is all we have to share
You know we must take care
Lovers in the wind.
There was a time when it was hard to know
Reaching out,reaching out,
for somewhere to go
There was a light born on the darkest day
But no one wants to know
And no one wants to try
Love is all I have to give
It's all I need to live
Lovers in the wind
There was a time when it was hard to know
Reaching out, reaching out for somewhere to go
There was a light born on the darkest day
But no one wants to know
And no one wants to cry
Time is always on the run
We've only just begun
Lovers in the wind

V.
I've talked about you in times so old
With wise nannies and retired partisans
Why you have the sorrow of a wild animal
Τhe glisten on trembling water's forehead
And why is it bound to be close to you
That I don't want love, but I want the wind,
I want the gallop of the uncovered, erect sea.
And nobody had ever heard of you,
Neither dictamnus nor fungus ever had,
In the high lands of Crete, nothing,
Only for you,God accepted guiding my hand.
Over here,over there,carefully all around
The face's shore,the coasts,the hair,
Over the hill waving on the left.
Your body in the position of the lonesome pine tree
Eyes of pride and of diaphanous sea bottom
Inside this home with the old escritoire,
Τhe yellow laces and the cypress wood,
Alone, just waiting for you to show up for the first time
Ιn the upper room or behind the courtyard tiles
With the Saint's horse and Easter egg.
As from a destroyed wallpaper
As large as short life wished for you,
Fitting in the small candle, the stentorian volcanic shine.
That nobody has ever seen or heard of
Nothing in desert places and in abandoned houses,
Neither the buried ancestor at the edge of the barnyard,
For you, nor the old lady with all of her herbs.
For you it's only me,and may be music too,
Which I push inside me but it comes back louder,
For you the unformed twelve years old chest,
Which is set on the future, with the red crater
For you as a pin,the bitter smell
That hits the body and drills reminiscence,
And this is the ground, these are the doves, this is our ancient land.
VI.
I've seen a lot and the Earth in my mind seems
more beautiful,
More beautiful in the golden steams
The incisive stone,more beautiful are
The purple isthmuses and roofs on the waves
More beautiful are the rays, where you pass without treading on,
Invincible as the goddess of Samothrace over the mountains
of the sea.
In such a way I've looked at you, that is enough for me
All this time to be absolved
Ιnto the groove that the passage leaves for you,
Like an experienced dolphin to follow
And my soul to play with white and blue!
Victory,victory I've been beaten
Before love and in love,
For the clock and the ghioul-birsimi
Go,go, even if I got lost.
Even if the sun you hold a newborn child,is alone,
Even if I am the one that my country mourns, alone
Let this be the only reason I sent the wind holding bay leaf to you,
The only reason the perfectly round pebble
on the ogling of the dark sea bottom
The fisherman that raised up and threw back again in time,
Paradise!
VII.
I have noticed an island in Paradise,
Looking exactly like you and a house by the sea.
With a big bed and a small door
I've thrown an echo to the deep
To look at myself every morning I wake up.
To see half of you passing through the water
And cry half of you in Paradise.

Μονόγραμμα (Mέρος Α) - Monogramma (Part A)

I.

I shall always mourn-you hear me?-for you,
alone,in Paradise.
She will turn engravements of the palm
Elsewhere,Fate as a keys keeper
At some time weather will consent,
How can't it be, people do fall in love.
The sky will picture our guts
And chastity will strike the world
With sharpness of black death.
II.
I'm mourning for the sun and for the years to come
Without us and singing for the other things passed,
If they are true.
Bodies spoken and the boats that splashed sweetly,
Guitars that turned on and off, down the water,
Words like "trust me" and "don't",
Once in the air, once in the music.
The two small animals,our hands
That looked for ascending secretly one another
The flowerpot full of dew,in open courtyard doors,
And the pieces of seas coming out together,
Over the dry stones, behind the fences,
The anemone which stood on your hand
And three times you feared purple,
Three days over the waterfalls.
If all of this is true,I'm singing
The wooden beam and the square web,
On the wall of the mermaid with the loose hair,
The cat staring at us in the darkness.
Child with the incense and the red cross
At time it gets dark on unapproachable rocks
I'm mourning for the textile I touched,
And the world came on to me.
III.
So I speak for you,and for me
Because I love you,and being in love
I know how to enter like a full moon
From everywhere,for your little foot
Inside the limitless sheets,
To pluck jasmines, and I have the power
Asleep,to blow and take you away
Through moonlight passages and hidden sea archways,
Hypnotized trees with silver light spiders.
Waves have heard of you
How you caress,how you kiss
How you say whispering "what" and "eh"
Around the neck and the cove
Always us,light and shadow.
Always you,the little star and always me the dark sailing boat
Always you the port and me the lighter on the right
The wet quay and the shine on the oars.
High above the house with the bines,
The tied roses and the water icing,
Always you the stone statue, and always me the shadow getting wider,
The sloping shutter is you,the air opening this,is me,
Because I love you and I love you,
Always you the coin, and me the adoration that
Cashes it:
So much for the night,so much for the roar in the wind
So much for the drop in the air,so much for silence
All around the despotic sea,
Arch of the sky with the stars,
So plenty for your minimal breath.
And now I haven't got anything else
Behind four walls, the ceiling, the floor
To cry out from you and been hit by my voice,
To smell from you and people get furious,
Because the untested and the alien
People can't stand,and it's early,you hear me,
It's early yet in this world my love,
To talk about you and me.
IV
It's early yet in this world, you hear me
Monsters haven't been tamed, you hear me
My lost,spilled blood,you hear me
And my pronged knife,
Like a ram running in the skies,
And cracking the star branches, you hear me
It is me,you hear me
I love you,you hear me
I hold you and take you and dress you up with
Ophelia's white wedding dress, you hear me
Where you leave me,where you go and who,you hear me,
Holds your hand over cataclysms?
The enormous lianas and volcanic lavas,
The day will come for us,you hear me
To be buried and thousands of years later
will turn us into shiny stratums, you hear me
Ηeartlessness to gleam upon them, you hear me,
Of men,
And in thousands of pieces to throw us
Into the water, one by one,you hear me.
My bitter pebbles I'm counting, you hear me
And time is a big church, you hear me
Where sometimes,Saints' figures
shed a real tear, you hear me
Bells open up above, you hear me,
A deep passage to pass through,
Angels wait with candles and death psalms,
I'm going nowhere,you hear me
Either nobody or both of us together, you hear me.
This flower of the storm, and you hear me
This flower of love,
We've cut it off once and forever,
And can't bloom otherwise, you hear me
In another Earth,in another star, you hear me,
It's not the same ground, not the same air
That we touched,you hear me.
And no other gardener wasn't so lucky in other times
From such a winter, and so many north winds, you hear me
To toss a flower,us only,you hear me,
In the middle of the sea.
From the unique will of love, you hear me
We raised up a whole island, you hear me
With caves and capes and flourished cliffs.
Listen,do listen
Who talks to the waters and who's crying-are you listening?
It's me screaming and it's me crying, you hear me
I love you,I love you,you hear me?

I Wanna Know What Love Is

I've gotta take a little time/A little time to think things over/I better read between the lines/In case I need it when I'm older./Now this mountain I must climb/Feels like the world upon my shoulders/Through the clouds I see love shine/It keeps me warm as life grows colder./In my life there´s been heart-ache and pain/I don´t know if I can face it again,/Can´t stop now/I´ve travelled so far /to change this lonely life./I wanna know what love is/I want you to show me/I wanna feel what love is/I know you can show me./
I´m gonna take a little time/A little time to look around me/I´ve got nowhere left to hide/It looks like love has finally found me./In my life there´s been heartache and pain/I don´t know if I can face it again/Can´t stop now/
I´ve travelled so far /to change this lonely life./
I wanna know what love is/I want you to show me/I wanna feel what love is/I know you can show me.

A Girl - Ένα Κορίτσι

Τhe tree has entered my hands,
The sap has ascended my arms,
The tree has grown in my breast -
Downward,
The branches grow out of me, like arms.

Tree you are,
Moss you are,
You are violets with wind above them.
A child - so high - you are,
And all this is folly to the world.
.............................................................

In the bar called Ten,
Time is seven past ten
Many people to see,
Merely us three
Me, lady solitude and lust,
Night has base born seed at last.
In the bar called Ten,
Time is seven past ten
The ship of endless joy tied harbor knot,
But you search for astrolabe's secure plot
A star so hasty to lead you home
Aphroditi laughs at you, fool homme...

Going - Φεύγοντας

There is an evening,
Coming in

Across the fields,
One never seen before,

That lights no lamps.
Silken it seems at a distance,
Yet
when it is drawn up
Over the knees and breast

It brings no comfort.
Where has the tree gone,
That locked
Earth to the sky?
What is under my hands,

That I cannot feel?
What loads my hands down?
...................................................................
που δεν έχω αφή;//Τι μου βαραίνει τα χέρια;

Μονοτονία - Monotony

One monotonous day is followed
By another monotonous, identical day.
The same
things will happen, they will happen again
The same moments find us and leave us.

A month passes and ushers in another month.
One easily guesses the coming events;
They are the boring ones of yesterday.
And tomorrow ends up not resembling like tomorrow anymore.

............................................................
Night, kisses of a girl
In a night dress made of bracken,
Night,sculptures of a moon
Ηolding
a silver chisel,
Night,harbor sea wall
With voyages untold.
How beautiful you were
With the soft blazon on your chest,
Shakes of a restless root,
So,untie my neckerchief from Ithaca
In the middle of the sea,
Sweet loss you treat me tonight, and light.
Dawn will be late,almost vanished,
Unborn child with no unnecessary words,
Dishonest tear of mine running
Down the leafages of the eternal garden.

Είσαι Νησί - You're An Island

......................................................
Skies unite,
My eyes upon your eyes.

Seas tear apart,

In your carmine stare,I follow.

Mountains ascend,

Between skies and seas.

I am your people,

Your cardinal passion,at midnight.

I am a crab's shell,

Half buried in the turf of time.

I am a single breath,

that went and got lost to be found.
I found you,when I wasn't looking for you.

Now I really know.

You're an island.

Love Of My Life ( The Best Love Ballad Ever For Valentine's Day)

Faces In The Crowd

Esther walks the hall, carrying a candle
Listens at the wall, for a sign of life
Closing her eyes as the room fades away
Counting the chimes
In the church of our saviour ringing out

Two faces in the crowd
Simon drives this town,
Works a graveyard Sunday

Esther flags him down,
Doesn’t speak a word

He hums to himself
As the streets disappear

He catches himself looking back
In the mirror filled with doubt

Two faces in the crowd
On the ferry from Dover to Calais, arm in arm on a windswept day
I’ve got a photo of them sailing away, mother’s so pretty, father’s so proud..
I stop to count the chimes,an orphan in the shadows
So little left behind, so much I’ll never know
A list in “the Times” of the lives lost at sea,an old photograph and a past,
That seems so like.

Flor de rechazo - Flower Of Rejection - Άνθος Της Απόρριψης

Vuelvo al jardín de la infancia
Al sexo de las flores

A sus cavidades y filamentos

A los secretos adentros

que exploramos

La persecución de una luna

demasiado plena
sitiaba
nuestros pasos

En la corola abrupta de la flor

el ojo desmesurado

capta el vértigo
Vuelvo
a la flor impúdica

A su parpadear de mariposa

Al líquido azúcar de su sépalo

A su cadáver
de tul
de bailarina exhausta
Vuelvo al celo de la flor

Al batir de alas de la avispa

A su veneno inyectado

en el cerrojo de mi sangre
........................................
I return to the childhood garden
/To the sex of flowers /To their cavities and filaments /To the secret insides we explore// The persecution of a too full moon/ laid siege to our steps /In the abrupt corolla of the flower /the unrestrained eye captures the vertigo //I return to the immodest flower /To its butterfly fluttering To the liquid sugar of its sepal /To its exhausted dancer tulle corpse // I return to the zeal of the flower /To the wasp’s beating of wings To its injected poison /in the bolt of my blood.
.....................................................

O poeta é um fingidor.
Finge tão completamente
Que chega a fingir que é dor
A dor que deveras sente.
E os que lêem o que escreve,
Na dor lida sentem bem,
Não as duas que ele teve,
Mas só que éles não têm.
E assim nas calhas de roda
Gira, a entreter a razão
Ésse comboio de corda
Que se chama o coração
.........................................
The poet is a fake./His faking seems so real/That he will fake the ache/Which he can really feel.//And those who read his cries/Feel in the paper tears/Not two aches that are his/But one that is not theirs.//And so in its ring/Giving the mind a game/Goes this train on a string/And the heart is its name.

........................................

Toutes Les Ecolières Ensemble - Όλα Τα Κοριτσόπουλα Μαζί - All The School Girls Together

Souvent to dis marquant
la terre du talon
comme éclôt dans
un buisson l’églantine

Sauvage qui n’a l’air faite
que do rosée

.....................................
Often you say /making a mark in the earth with your heel /at the wild rose blooms in a bush,/Wild one /seemingly made only of dew/.You say /The whole sea and the whole sky for a single/Victory of childhood in the country of dance /or better for a single/Embrace in a train corridor/Going to the devil /with rifle shots on a bridge or better/Yet for a single timorous word/
Such as must be said while gazing at you
/By a blood-stained man /whose name goes far /from tree to tree/Who keeps going in and out /among a hundred birds of snow/Where then it is nice,/And when you say it the whole sea and the whole sky/Scatter like a cloud of little girls in the yard/ of a strict boarding school,/After a dictation in which The heart takes/Was perhaps written The heart aches.
................................................

Religion

Of all possible
sexual perversions
religion is the only one
to have ever been
scientifically systemized.
...................

L'amoureuse - In Love - Ερωτευμένος

Elle est debour sur mes paupières
Et ses cheveux sont dans les miens,
Elle a la forme de mes mains,
Elle a la couleur de mes yeux,
Elle s'engloutit dan mon ombre
Comme une pierre sur le ciel.
Elle a toujours les yeux ouverts

Et ne me laisse pas dormir.
Ses rêves en pleine lumière
Font s'évaporer les soleils,
Me font rire, pleurer et rire,
Parler sans avoir rien à dire
.............................................
She is standing on my lids

And her hair is in my hair
She has the colour of my eye
She has the body of my hand
In my shade she is engulfed
As a stone against the sky
She will never close her eyes

And she does not let me sleep
And her dreams in the bright day
Make the suns evaporate
And me laugh cry and laugh
Speak when I have nothing to say
................................................

Ta Chevelure D'oranges - Πορτοκαλένια Η Κόμη Σου - Your Hair Of Oranges

Ta chevelure d'oranges dans
le vide du monde
Dans le vide des vitres
lourdes de silence
Et d'ombre où mes mains nues
cherchent tous tes reflets.
La forme de ton
cœur
est chimérique

Et ton amour ressemble
à mon désir perdu.

O soupirs d'ambre, rêves, regards.
Mais tu n'as pas toujouts
été avec moi.
Ma mémoire
est encore obscurcie
de t'avoir vu venir

Et partir. Le temps se sert de mots
Comme l'amour.

.................................................................
....................................................................
Into the void of the world your hair of oranges
Silence hangs heavy upon deserted fireplaces
And the shadow,my bare hands
search for your reflections.
Chimerical is the shape of your heart
And your love looks like my lost desire
Oh,amber sighs,dreams,glances.
But you were not always with me.My memory
Blurs even when it sees you coming
And leave.Time uses words
As love does too.

Blue Spanish Sky

It's a big blue spanish sky,
Lay on my back and watch clouds roll by.
I've got the time to wonder why,
She left me.
It's a slow sad spanish song,
I knew the words but I sang them wrong.
The one I love has left and gone,
Without me.
Now she's gone, our world has changed.
Watchin a blue sky, thinkin of rain.
It's a slow sad spanish song,
I knew the words but I sang them wrong.
The one that I love has left and gone,
Without me.
It's a big blue spanish sky,
I lay on my back and watch clouds roll by.
I only wish I could make you cry,
Like I do...

Rachel (A Poem For Rachel Claire Ward)

Can you peer through those eyes?
The radiance must be blinding.

As I gaze into them
I've come to understand

What the ancients must have felt,

Looking up toward
The shimmering night sky.

All the mysteries and wonders of life

Are clearly reflected, as is the light.

And even if I'd never be sure
just
What chemicals kindle
A star's faithful burn

I would still spend every night

Dreaming up poems about
Your eyes.
