............................

I'll leave from every grandeur one day
When the eternal youth of the city
crushes the rigidity of the night
that poisonous viper, transforming it into
Two pearly white doves.

Till hoverings appear
Speechlessly I share the sorrow
of a raindrop rolling slowly on the pane
like the stifled crying of a little kid
Speechlessly I hear the despair of the sand
penetrating the waist of the hourglass
like a bullet in the chest of a soldier in cotton
Speechlessly I mingle the grey face of your sky
with our vociferous bedroom light,as the door opens.

I'll leave from every grandeur one day
with the morning train of flowers on  the breasts of ineffable dreams,
but truly I exorcise you, don't be fooled
I am no other -just like you- than a
Desperate pilot, but I hope.
Because Hope is "The One With Feathers"

The sun melts the days with a speed of
a thousand daisies per second
and the nights like sinister nail
spike palms on the cross, beside
the barn's chaffy cradle,
but I will keep on hoping
because life is inappreciably wonderful
with a little death on the lips:
One drop of bitter almond, and behold:Immortality.

I'll leave from every grandeur one day
when we will look again at the Walls,
when we will once again become pilgrims in Amorgos
when we will carve again the Monogram on soul's metal
When we will wear again Clouds With Trousers.
At this private invitation for the first time
Let us count ourselves in, without counting.

Panagiotis Xourafas
