My son in law and daughter, listen to
the name I am giving him' I reached here
been "oddysey-ed", which means I was hated
by many, men and women I encountered on
my way from one land to another, that is why
I am naming the child Odysseus, and so it goes.

They placed Expectations
Perishable and undoubtedly divine
Upon infinite flowers of theraic land
In the cold eyes of the golden lizard,
All of them children of great roar.

Always the loom of Penelope
Weaves the diaper of Helen
With fibers of interstitial sounds
In arid sorrows lyrics
Like sunflowers chill
Under black suns
Of wild eyes,been lost
Around unending cycles
Forceps of future memories
In the howling wilderness of wolves.
All seem crystal clear
But in the great labyrinth of silence
In the days of rusty irises
Mirages gather at half mast,
The Laestrygonians and Cyclops
The spunky Hector, the brave Achilles
And the other prospective dead heroes
Waiting one by one for their honours.

They placed Expectations
With the crack of the morning breeze
In the calm waters of Ithaca
In the first breaths of History
And despite denials,still
The Journey is baptized by Autolycus.

Οχτροί Ορκισμένοι - Sworn Enemies

..................

So many years now
so many years, you
sworn enemies
black moons
nailed-
fiery moons
on grey drop curtain,
eyes like
an old cornice-
and any blurry
images of loss,
old people crooked
so full of sorrow...

αχνό φως, ραγίζει το μπλέ;

......................

So you have been trying to
hunt me in the caves of roses-
Don't you see that even the
faintest light ,cracks the blue?

Η Πατρίδα Μου - My Land

And I don't love anything else as much as I love my country.
If somebody comes and tells me that something would be
good for my country, I would leave him to blind both
of my eyes. Because if I am not able to see and my country
is fine, it can feed me. But if my country is down and low,
I will be blind even if I have ten eyes. And I am going to live
on this land and don't intend to go any place else.

   Έτσι ποιός να ορίσει τού κεριού τα καίρια φτερά;

   πού νά 'βρεις ήλιο φιλικό στή βιάση τής λαγνείας;

1. On the bloody couches of breathless dawn
unwilling souls look towards earthly dooms.

2. The hoopoe has flown left in the horizon
so, who can handle crucial wings of wax ?

3. Body and look thirst quenching at Mt.Lycaeon
 morning's gad is evenhanded statute.

4. Memories memorials and memoirs of loss
where can you find a friendly sun in the haste of lust?

5. On sundays ireses of pain and expectation
like half breaths flap inside a philistine cell.

6. There's also a brunette Almodovar like figure an essence
of bitter tears falling down a silver and diaphanous thread.

7. Winter has come, streets narrowed and so did shadows
faces wrinkled and got lost through the thick foliages.

8. The boy running after the ball is gold and thin
and 'musts' have become a prison as time goes by.

9. His heart was shivering, as he bent over the edge'
get ready! Second births, all these yes and no.

10. At thirties he discovered Acheron's dark impetus,
at thirties he stood up and said let me bless this moment.

Χαμόγελα - Uśmiechy ( Smiles : A Tribute To Wislawa Szymborska)

Z większą nadzieją świat patrzy niż słucha.
Mężowie stanu muszą się uśmiechać.
Uśmiech oznacza,że nie tracą ducha.
Choć gra zawiła , interesy sprzeczne,
wynik niepewny- zawsze to pociecha,
gdy uzębienie białe i serdeczne.

Muszą życzliwie pokazywać czoło
na sali obrad i płycie lotniska.
Ruszać się żwawo, wyglądać wesoło.
Ów tego wita , ten owego żegna.
Twarz uśmiechnięta bardzo jest potrzebna
dla obiektywów i dla zbiegowiska.

Stomatologia w slużbie dyplomacji
spektakularny gwarantuje skutek.
Kłów dobrej woli i siekaczy zgodnych
nie może braknąć w groźnej sytuacji.
Jeszcze nie mamy czasów tak pogodnych,
żeby na twarzach widniał zwykły smutek.

Ludzkość braterska, zdaniem marzycieli,
zamieni ziemię w krainę uśmiechu.
Wątpię.Mężowie stanu, dajmy na to,
uśmiechać by się tyle  nie musieli.
Tylko czasami:że wiosna, że lato,
bez nerwowego skurczu i pośpiechu.

The world would rather see hope than just hear
its song. And that's why statesmen have to smile.
Their pearly whites mean they're still full of cheer.
The game's complex, the goal's far out of reach,
the outcome's still unclear - once in a while,
we need a friendly, gleaming set of teeth.

Heads of state must display unfurrowed brows
on airport runways, in the conference room.
They must embody one big, toothy "Wow!"
while pressing flesh or pressing urgent issues.
Their faces' self-regenerating tissues
make our hearts hum and our lenses zoom.

Dentistry turned to diplomatic skill
promises us a Golden Age tomorrow.
The going's rough, and so we need the laugh
of bright incisors, molars of good will.
Our times are still not safe and sane enough
for faces to show ordinary sorrow.

Dreamers keep saying, "Human brotherhood
will make this place a smiling paradise."
I'm not convinced. The statesman, in that case,
would not require facial exercise,
except from time to time: he's feeling good,
he's glad it's spring, and so he moves his face.
But human beings are, by nature, sad.
So be it, then. It isn't all that bad

Ubi me prejaka reč

(I was killed
by too strong a word)

Branko Miljković

Ο Branko Miljković (Бранко Миљковић ,1934-1961),

Every wall

A story

Of erection
Lots of colours

Of  maintenance
Many layers

Or finally
Of demolition

Ever since

.............................

In the landscape of the great artist of the past
the trees have roots beneath the painting's oil color,
the path undoubtedly reaches its end,
signature is replaced by a majestic spire,
it is an admonitory 5:00 p.m.May has been gently but firmly, delayed
so I continued to stay. Because of course, my dear,
I am there, the woman beneath the ash.
See just how far have I left you behind,
see the white hat and the yellow skirt I wear,
see how I clasp my basket not to take off the painting.
How do I walk proudly into the fate of another
and rest for a while from life's mysteries.

Even if you called me I could not hear,

and even if I heard I wouldn't have turned,
and even if I made that impossible gesture
your face would be like an unknown face to me.

I know the world six miles around.

I know herbs and spells for every pain.
God casts his gaze still on the top of my head.
Still I pray, will not die suddenly.

War is a punishment and
peace is a reward.
Shameful dreams come all from Satan.
My soul is so chaste as the kernel of the plum.I do not know the game of hearts.

I never saw the father of my children naked
I didn't see the harsh and stained blueprint
hidden behind the Song of Songs.
Whatever I want to say comes to phrases prepared.
I never use despair for it is not really mine,
but given to me just for guarding.

Even if you close my way,
even if you stare at my face persistently,
I will take you from the top of the gap, thinner than a hair.

To the left is my home. I know it from all sides,

all over the length of the stairs and entrances,
behind them, life goes unpainted.
The cat jumps in a bench
the sun shines on a prison from tin,
a raw-boned man is sitting at the table
correcting a clock.
