Ψάχνοντας για ότι έχω ανάγκη, και δεν ξέρω ακριβώς τι είναι αυτό,
πήγαινα από άνθρωπο σε άνθρωπο,
και είδα πως όλοι τους μαζί
έχουν λιγότερα από μένα
που δεν έχω τίποτα, και πως άφησα
στον καθένα από αυτούς ένα κομμάτι
από αυτό που δεν έχω και που αναζητώ.
