Γενέθλιο - Birthday

 

Πριν την αυγή νεκρό 

ανακαλύφθηκε το φως 

είχε όμως το σκοτάδι 

άλλοθι ακλόνητο: 

Την ώρα του κακού 

κήπος περίκλειστος

ήταν στα μάτια της 

από συνθετικά φιλιά

            ***

Λένε κάποιοι πως 

από ατρόμητη καρδιά

δεν αστόχησε ο Ιόλαος 

στον τελευταίο δαυλό 

Mα η αλήθεια είναι 

πως δεν φοβήθηκε 

κανείς ποτέ αυτό 

που δεν λαχτάρισε

before the dawn

but darkness had

an unshakable alibi:

At the time of death

it was a fenced garden

out of synthetic kisses

in her eyes of honey

            ***

Some say by having

such a fearless heart

Iolaus did not miss

in his last torch

But the truth is

that nobody was

ever afraid of what

he did not crave
