Ronnie James Dio - R.I.P.

Παραθέτω μία απο τις αγαπημένες μου μπαλάντες του Ronnie, με τίτλο "Children Of The Sea".

In the misty morning, on the edge of time
We've lost the rising sun, a final sign
As the misty morning rolls away to die
Reaching for the stars, we blind the sky
We sailed across the air before we learned to fly
We thought that it could never end
We'd glide above the ground before we learned to run, run
Now it seems our world has come undone
Oh they say that it's over
And it just had to be
Ooh they say that it's over
We're lost children of the sea, oh
We made the mountains shake with laughter as we played
Hiding in our corner of the world
Then we did the demon dance and rushed to nevermore
Threw away the key and locked the door
Oh they say that it's over, yeah
And it just had to be
Yes they say that it's over
We're lost children of the sea
In the misty morning, on the edge of time
We've lost the rising sun, a final sign
As the misty morning rolls away to die
Reaching for the stars, we blind the sky
Oh they say that it's over, yeah
And it just had to be
Oh they say that it's over
Poor lost children of the sea, yeah
Look out! The sky is falling down!
Look out!The world is spinning round and round and round!
Look out! The sun is going black, black
Look out! It's never never never coming back, Look out!

Άνοιξε Το Παράθυρο - Open The Window

πως δεν τις είδες;

.................

Words were good
real good and honoured,
the cross was golden
without a chain belt.
Open the window so as
dew of May to come on in,
for a certain place we departed
but life takes us elsewhere.
Wedding rings were golden
and so were the chains,
that enchained our youth-
how come you didn't notice?
Open the window so as
dew of May to come on in,
for a certain place we departed
but life takes us elsewhere...

...........................

They are already coming, Judgement days
to count up our shares
and we shall find it all ahead of us
I do not fear this
neither do I desire it.
But there are no rabbits in the hat
this is when we get to see for
what our money is worth.
And if everything turns to be true,
I won't cheer and I won't cry
And I won't say "I told you"
I don't know how or why
Without a word I'll light your cigarette.

And the kids who "lost the ball"
whose dreams do not come true
they watch their firm shore vanish
and they don't want that
and they are scared,
That all things now will be few and small
and their mistakes won't be big anymore.
And if everything turns to be true...

Better ?

Οταν Μία Ανοιξη - When One Spring

...................

When one spring smiles
you will wear a new costume
and you'll come to shake my hands
my old friend

And perhaps no one expects you to come back
But I feel the beating of your heart
and a flower blossomed in your mature and hurt memory

A train at night, whistling,
or a ship, distant and unexpected
will bring you along with our youth
and our dreams

And perhaps nothing,in fact, have you forgotten
but homecoming always worth more
than any love of mine and yours
my old friend
.

There's No Way Out Of Here - Καμία Διέξοδος

..................................

There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good
There was no promise made, the part you've played, the chance you took
There are no boundaries set, the time and yet you waste it still
So it slips through your hands like grains of sand, you watch it go
There's no time to be lost, you'll pay the cost so get it right
There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good

And never was there an answer, there an answer
Not without listening, without seeing

There are no answers here, when you look out you don't see in
There was no promise made, the part you've played, the chance you took
There's no way out of here, when you come in you're in for good...

We Were Dreaming - Ονειρευόμαστε

........................

Swaddled in thick woolen blankets
we lied down still and silent,
in this august night,
bewitched by the intense smell of the forest
which looked , through the half opened door,
like a long black snake. In fact,
we were just tired and dreaming. (...)

A Idade Do Ouro - Η Χρυσή Περίοδος

...................
campos. Aí, senta-se numa pedra; não sabe
onde está; nem ouve que o chamam,
do fundo, para que regresse.

Ele sabe que pode avançar,
se os olhos não fixarem
a imagem conhecida. Imóvel,
uma transformação faz com que
as coisas estranhas se tornem perceptíveis
e familiares. Assim, regressa ao rigor
que os deuses lhe roubaram
com o grito inicial.

Porém, outros homens avançam
por essa paisagem, deitando abaixo
os muros. Têm foices, enxadas, rostos
embranquecidos pela vigília. Riem,
uns; e cantam, quando a terra
se abre em sulcos que sobem
os montes, descem colinas,
e se perdem na planície.

Um dia,
talvez se encontrem.

160 Χρόνια Πρίν - 160 Years Ago

"I hope that all of us participating in the government have to know that under the present circumstances, whoever stand in public offices can not have pays according to the grade of their high office and services, so that their salaries have to be equivalent to the economical means the government has under its authority... Well, if my private income is enough for me to live, I deny to touch even a single penny of the public money, while we are in the middle of ruins and people being deeply in intolerable poverty"

Το Δικαίωμα - The Right

Let others expend themselves
and let them been limited to
things which exist.

Which, certainly, are most of their evils
and charge them.

If there is only one man keeping the right
to expect
to those not existing,
but should and could exist.

Odysseas Elytis
