Στην Άχλυ Τού Νοτιά - South Wind Haze

Τα τζάµια φέγγανε 
από τη χαρά της µέλισσας

Γύρω από το φαγητό
κάθονταν τα παιδιά

Στο δρόµο η αθώα µιλιά 
έτρεχε από µια κρήνη

Σπίνοι ξεκούφαιναν 
τα πιο ψηλά κλαδιά

"Γιατί παιδιά τι θέλετε 
τόσο νωρίς στον κόσµο"

Η άνοιξη δε στολίζεται 
µονάχα µε βροχές

Αγέρας αλαφρύς 
µπαίνει απ' τις σιδερένιες πόρτες

Χτυπούνε τα παντζούρια στον απάνω µαχαλά

"Ία… ου… έεεε… -κι η ηχώ: ούουου… έεεεε…"

Απέναντι σε µια γλαυκή χερσόνησο επιβάτες

Έφτασαν απ' την Πούλια και ζητάν ψωµί

'Αντε να τρέξει ακόµα λίγο το ποτάµι

Να σκιρτήσει ακόµα λίγο η θάλασσα

Ν' ανέβουν τα γεράκια στα θεόρατα βουνά

Έξω περνάν τα κάρα τραγουδώντας µες στην άχλυ του νοτιά

Ορθοί αλαλάζουνε κι οι καροτσέρηδες

"Σήµερα σήµερα παιδιά."

Ένα γαρούφαλο την ώρα εκείνη σκάει µες στον αγέρα

Πολλοί δακρύζουν και συνοµιλούν

'Αλλοι πηγαίνουν σιωπηλά και στρώνουν καταγής χορτάρι

Για να µπορέσει πια να κοιµηθεί ο ήλιος

Για να µπορέσει πια να κοιµηθεί ο ήλιος.

The window panes glimmered of the joy of the bee
Around food children were sitting

In the street the innocent voice run away from a fountain
finches dinned the highest branches
"What do you want kids so early in this world"
Spring don't tog only with rain

A slight wind gets through the iron doors
The shutters knock on the upper floor
"Eahh...uhh...ehh - and the echo: uhhhh...ehhhh..."
Over a glaucous peninsula passengers
Arrived from Pleiades asking for bread
Let the river run a little bit more
And the sea frisk for a while
Let the falcons fly over the highest mountains
Outside the carts pass singing in the south wind haze
The cart riders stand up and shout:
"Today, today kids"
  A carnation at that time bursts in the wind
Many shed tears and chat
Others go silently and strew grass on the ground
For the sun to go and sleep at last
For the sun to go and sleep at last.
